Our Team
The players in the Galaxy Hockey Academy all aspire to play for our team, The Galaxy Warriors.
Why the name Galaxy? Whilst we are based in the UAE, which is very much our home, the term Galaxy is an expression to symbolize the incredible diversity of nationalities the UAE has opened its doors to that also form part of our team.
Why Warriors? To really appreciate this, you need to come and watch some of our games to see the fight and spirt of our team.
The Galaxy Warriors have become hugely recognizable in the hockey community throughout the Middle East, and the interest in our academy is growing day by day.
OUR FANS & OUR COMMUNITY
The Galaxy Hockey Academy has developed a very strong and loyal fan base and community which has been instrumental to our success. We hold many social activities outside of hockey and this brings a true family spirit. Anyone who has watched a Galaxy game will tell you that our fans, donned in the daring purple Galaxy colors, are the loudest, most energetic and passionate!
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR
Tournaments & Trophy’s
Although the Galaxy Hockey Academy only officially started on September 1st 2022, we have achieved some incredible early successes and are making our own history with 5 trophies already in our cabinet.
Istanbul Cup (Turkey): Our U16 Galaxy Warriors Team played
against the national teams of Turkey, Bulgaria and Bosnia. We took
both Turkey and Bulgaria to overtime and defeated Bosnia to lift the
Bronze cup!
Istanbul Cup (Turkey): Our U12 Galaxy Warriors reached the final of
the Istanbul Cup (vs teams from Bulgaria and Turkey Super Lig) to lift
the Silver cup.
Istanbul Cup (Turkey): Our Galaxy Senior team take the silver medal
against some very strong Turkish and Russian club teams, consisting
of KHL players.
Central Asian Cup (Kyrgyzstan): Our U13 & U16 win both win silver
medals against teams from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan. U9 receive
medals for their terrific first tournament performance.
